Takie Studio Visit.

Ahead of her show on the 15th of August, we paid Takie a visit in The Tate studios.

Takie quit her 9-5 in Melbourne 3 months ago and fled to take refuge in our one of our homely rooms. She has been holed up since then tirelessly creating vibrant and complex pieces. If you like what you see come check out her work at The Tate on the 15th of August.

THE TATE: THIS WED 18.07.12 ‘INTERLACED’

The work of Flutter Lyon and Velvet Gallagher

The work of Flutter Lyon and Velvet Gallagher can be described as passing alternatively over and under, as if woven together.

Both artists span the gallery space like a delicious weave of visual treats, good enough to eat. Notes of colour, form and light intertwine and interlace in a dance like manner across the beautiful cotton paper and although colliding at an exciting aesthetic moment in this contemporary space – the two artists derive their inspiration from contrasting places – one reveling in the past and one looking into the future.

There will be 60s rare original vinyl being spun by the Velvet Cave Dj’s all night.
